Software licence

This agreement covers Drift Delay and Swirl Chorus supplied by Sliding Cheesecake Records. It explains what you may do with the software. Purchase and refund arrangements are in the sales terms.

Who provides the software

Your music

You may use the plugins to make, perform and release music and other audio, including paid client work and commercial releases. Your recordings remain yours. No royalty, credit or further permission is required from us for that work.

Drift Delay

Drift Delay is free to use for personal and commercial audio work on your own computers. It requires no licence key or subscription. Free distribution does not transfer ownership of the software or grant a right to sell it.

Swirl Chorus

A standard paid licence is for one named person. It covers the supplied Mac and Windows formats on up to five activated computers used by that person, including studio and live computers. It may not be shared between different users. For a shared studio or teaching room, contact us before purchasing to discuss the number of users.

The licence is perpetual for the purchased major version: it has no scheduled expiry and no recurring fee. A version 1 licence includes all 1.x updates we release. Future major upgrades may be sold separately; you do not have to buy them to continue using your licensed version.

Activation requires an internet connection or a signed licence file supplied through support. Once activated, normal use works offline without periodic online checks. See activation and computer changes.

Trial

The Swirl trial permits 14 days of evaluation from its first run. No purchase happens automatically. After expiry, the effect is bypassed until a valid licence is installed. Projects and settings are retained.

Licence transfers

You may permanently transfer a fully paid standard Swirl licence to another person through support. Contact us first so we can verify ownership and arrange the new licence. There is no transfer fee. Once the transfer is complete, remove your licence files and stop using that licence. A transferred licence cannot also be kept or shared by the previous owner.

Software and licence files

The software, factory content and branding remain the property of their respective owners. You may keep backup copies. Do not share keys or signed licence files, sell or redistribute the plugin installer without permission, or misrepresent modified software as an official release. Linking to our download pages is welcome.

You may not bypass licence protection or reverse-engineer the software except where applicable law gives you that right. Third-party components remain subject to their own licence notices; this agreement does not remove rights those licences grant.

Updates and compatibility

The support page lists system requirements and available formats. A perpetual licence is not a promise of compatibility with every future operating system or DAW, or of indefinite updates. Keep the installer for versions used in important projects.

Ending the licence

A refunded or permanently transferred licence must no longer be used by its former holder. For a material breach of this agreement, we may end the licence after explaining the problem and allowing 30 days to put it right where it can be remedied. Ending a licence does not transfer ownership of your recordings to us.

Your legal rights

Nothing here excludes rights or remedies that the law gives you, including rights relating to faulty digital content. English law applies, but mandatory consumer protections and the right to bring a claim in the courts available to you where you live are preserved.

The terms supplied with your download or purchase govern that version. Later website edits do not retrospectively reduce the rights you already bought.
