Swirl Chorus is in development and is not on sale yet. The trial and licence instructions below describe the forthcoming release.

Compatibility

Both plugins target macOS 11 or later on Apple silicon and Intel, and 64-bit Windows 10 or later.

  • macOS: VST3, Audio Unit (AU), CLAP and a standalone application.
  • Windows: VST3, CLAP and a standalone application.
  • Not supplied: AAX, VST2, 32-bit builds or supported Linux installers. Pro Tools requires AAX and cannot load these plugins directly.

Your DAW must support the format you install. Logic Pro uses AU. A format listing is not a guarantee of compatibility with every DAW version; a DAW-by-DAW validation matrix has not yet been published. Test in your own sessions before relying on a plugin for a deadline.

Installation

Close your DAW, run the installer for your operating system and select the formats you use. Open the DAW and run its plugin scan. On Windows, check that the DAW scans the standard VST3 or CLAP folder.

macOS plugin folders:

  • /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3
  • /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components (AU)
  • /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/CLAP

Windows plugin folders:

  • C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3
  • C:\Program Files\Common Files\CLAP

If the plugin is missing, confirm the format and scan folder, restart the DAW and rescan. If a Mac still reports an old validation failure after an update, restart the computer and try again. If an installer produces a security warning, send the exact message to support so it can be checked.

Swirl trial and activation

What does the trial include?

The trial starts when Swirl first runs and lasts 14 days. It includes all sound controls and presets, requires no card or email address, and does not start a subscription. After expiry, Swirl passes the dry signal through with its reported latency; it retains your settings. Activating a licence restores the effect.

Is the licence a subscription?

No. One licence covers one person on up to five activated computers, across Mac and Windows. You can use it for personal and commercial music work. Version 1.x updates are included; a future paid major upgrade is optional. Read the licence agreement and sales and refund terms.

How do I activate it?

Click the trial or licence status at the bottom of the plugin. Enter the key from your order email and choose Activate. Online activation needs an internet connection; ordinary use after activation does not. No iLok account or hardware dongle is required.

Can I use an offline studio computer?

Yes. Contact support from an internet-connected device for a signed licence file, then choose Import File in the plugin’s licence panel on the studio computer. Keep a backup of that file.

How do I move to a new computer?

On the old computer, open the licence panel and choose Deactivate while connected to the internet. Then activate on the new computer. If the old machine is lost or no longer works, contact support to free its activation. Uninstalling alone does not release an activation.

What if I lose my key?

Check the purchase email and spam folder. If you still cannot find it, contact support with your purchase email address and order number, if available. Do not send card details or publish your licence key.

Uninstalling

Close your DAW first. On Windows, remove the plugin from Installed apps (Apps & features on Windows 10). On macOS, remove only the relevant Drift Delay or Swirl Chorus bundle from each plugin folder listed above, and its standalone application from Applications if installed.

Keep backups of your projects, user presets and licence file. Removing plugin files does not remove every preference or reset Swirl’s trial. For Swirl, deactivate first if you want to release the computer’s activation.

Known limitations

  • Swirl quality modes: HQ drive uses more CPU. Both quality modes report 136 samples of latency, including bypass. Use the standard quality mode if a session is short of CPU.
  • Swirl A/B: comparison slots are temporary; save a preset to keep a setting. They are not separate saved project states.
  • Swirl pitch depth: the available depth in cents depends on Rate and Size. The delay range limits extreme combinations.
  • Drift tempo sync: synced divisions need tempo information from the host. Use free time when the host does not provide it.

Report a problem

Include the plugin name and version, operating system, DAW version, plugin format, sample rate and buffer size. Explain the steps that reproduce the problem and whether it happens in a new, empty project. A small example or the exact error text helps; avoid sending confidential client recordings.
