Website visits
The website is hosted by Vercel. Requests include technical information such as your IP address, browser details, requested URL and the time of the request. Hosting and security logs support delivery, fault diagnosis and abuse prevention. The basis for this processing is our legitimate interest in running a reliable, secure website.
No advertising or cross-site tracking is used. Browser storage and private sign-in cookies are explained in the cookies and storage notice.
Website analytics
We use Vercel Web Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights, provided by our hosting provider, to count page views and measure how quickly pages load. Both are cookieless: they do not set cookies, do not write to your browser’s storage, and do not follow you to other websites. A page view records the page address, the referring address, and coarse details derived from the request such as country, device type, browser and operating system. Vercel derives a short-lived, one-way identifier so repeat views within a single day can be counted; it is regenerated daily and cannot be linked across days.
Alongside page views we count a few specific events: which installer was clicked, with its platform and version; whether the newsletter form was submitted successfully; and clicks from an article to a product page. These are counts, not records about you. No email address, name, message or licence information is sent to Vercel.
The basis for this processing is our legitimate interest in knowing which pages and which referrals bring people to the plugins, and in keeping the site fast. You can object by contacting us. Blocking the analytics script in your browser affects nothing else on the site.
Contact and support
When you write to us, we receive your email address, any name you give and the contents of your message. The website form sends these through Resend to our support mailbox. Direct email is handled by the email services involved in delivery.
We use this information to answer you and resolve your enquiry. For purchase and licence support, this is necessary to perform our contract or take steps you request before a purchase. For other correspondence, we rely on our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries. Contacting us does not subscribe you to marketing.
Newsletter
If you subscribe, your email address and subscription status are passed to Buttondown to send occasional plugin, beta and preset updates. The basis is your consent. You can withdraw it using the unsubscribe link in an email or by contacting us; this does not affect processing that happened before withdrawal.
You do not need to subscribe to download Drift Delay. We do not sell the mailing list or use it for unrelated advertising.
Purchases and Swirl licensing
Swirl is not on sale yet. Once sales open, Lemon Squeezy will handle checkout as merchant of record and share order and licence information with us, including your name, email address, purchase status and licence key. We do not receive your full payment card details.
When you choose online activation, Swirl sends the licence key, product identifier, computer name, a device identifier and operating-system and plugin-major-version information to our licensing endpoint. The endpoint passes the key and an activation label containing the computer name and device identifier to Lemon Squeezy. Deactivation sends the key and activation identifier.
The returned signed file contains the licensed name, email, key, activation identifier, issue time and covered major version. It is saved on your computer and verified locally during normal use. The licensing service does not receive your audio, DAW projects or presets. There are no periodic online licence checks after activation.
Licence delivery and activation are necessary to perform the purchase contract. Preventing licence misuse is a legitimate interest. Records required for tax and accounting are processed to meet legal obligations. The trial stores its timing records locally and does not require an email address.
Retention
Correspondence is kept while an enquiry is open and for as long as needed to resolve related problems or disputes. Records no longer needed for those purposes are deleted. A newsletter subscription is kept while it is active; after unsubscribe, a minimal suppression record may be retained to honour that choice.
Purchase and licence records are kept for as long as needed to provide the perpetual licence, recover keys and resolve ownership disputes. Accounting records are retained for the applicable statutory period. Technical logs are kept under the hosting provider’s retention settings and any longer period needed to investigate a specific security incident.
Service providers and international processing
Vercel provides hosting and website analytics, Resend delivers contact-form email, Buttondown manages newsletter subscriptions, and Lemon Squeezy will process purchases and licence activations. Their services may process data outside the UK, including in the United States. Their privacy notices describe their locations and transfer arrangements:
You can contact us for details of the safeguards applying to your information. Lemon Squeezy also acts independently for its payment, tax and fraud-prevention responsibilities. We may disclose records where required by law or necessary to establish or defend a legal claim.
Your rights
Depending on the processing and circumstances, you can ask to access, correct or erase your information, restrict its use, receive a portable copy, or object to processing based on legitimate interests. Some records must be retained to meet legal obligations or maintain a licence you want to keep using. We will explain any limit that applies to your request.
Contact hello@slidingcheesecake.com to exercise these rights. We may ask for enough information to verify the request, without requesting unnecessary identity documents. You can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK data protection regulator.
We do not use your information for automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects. This page will be updated when the services or handling practices change.
